Lunch & Learn

The AACH values our platform. As professionals in this field, we created our monthly Lunch and Learn series in the summer of 2024 to introduce new topics and conversations from a member of our board to other curious, evolving professionals. A new topic is presented at each meeting, occurring on the third Friday of each month. These meetings are $25 per class and last one hour, starting at noon CT. Interested? Foundations of Statistical Learning

Statistical learning refers to infants’ ability to detect and extract patterns and regularities from the complex, dynamic environments they encounter. Even before they can speak, infants are exposed to a barrage of sensory information— sounds, sights, and interactions. Their brains are equipped with mechanisms that allow them to make sense of this information by identifying statistical patterns, such as which sounds or visual cues tend to occur together.

In this enlightening one-hour program, participants will:

  • Understand statistical learning in infancy

  • Explore its role in concept and category development

  • Examine how early environments shape learning and behavior

  • Apply knowledge to mental health practice
